Porcoino the Pig

Every time I clean there is at least a dollar in change that accumulates during the process.  For years I have been trying to find a more adult piggy bank to avoid dispersing that money back into random drawers and crevices.  I finally found the perfect, simple pig that would also be able to blend into more sophisticated settings.  My porker came in the form of a white “Porcoino Piggy bank” from Umbra, located in the Target home furnishings section.

The bank looks much more at home with my present duvet and dark furniture than it would with the Disney bedsheets and stuffed bears of my childhood, or at least I’d like to think so.

Kinda like Liquor Coupons

After a weekend of shopping, some work but mostly shopping, I have the need to seriously look at my ability to resist temptation.  My observation thus far is it’s going to be a long, thrifty journey on the road to sufficient impulse control.  When I stay focused on my projects, work, or fitness I am too busy to even run errands.  Problems occur when I venture out to harmlessly scan new items I may purchase later or even when I “quickly” run in to pick up a necessary item at the grocery store.

Cool Fish

Among no foam, light syrup, nonfat milk green tea lattes and garlic Parmesan doused boneless buffalo wings there is sporadically an inedible special something that strikes me almost as much as its epicurean counterpart.  I already own six pairs of this particular special something and just ordered five more.  Perhaps my ordering gusto is a reflection of trying to compensate for almost reaching my breaking point at the beginning of the week.  To see how a crappy start can lead to a stylish ending at the mailbox I just turn the key, reach in, tear open, and let my lobes do the rest.

Yea for earrings that make me smile even though I can’t eat them.
